Mrs. Frances Kathleen “Kat” Jones Holton, age 87, of Chapel Hill, Tennessee, died Saturday evening, June 18, 2016 at the home of her daughter. Mrs. Holton was born in Marshall County and was a daughter of the late Harvey Ransom and Annie Maude Hoover Jones. She was one of the first female school bus drivers in Marshall County and retired after 29 years of driving for the Marshall County Board of Education. Mrs. Holton was a member of the Chapel Hill United Methodist Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas “Tom” Holton, who died in 1985; sisters, Nannie Belle Orr, Jeanette Jones Fuller, Pearl Uselton; brothers, Harold Jones, Ed Jones, Arthur Jones, Emmett Jones and Dick Jones.

Mrs. Holton is survived by a daughter, Debbie (Charles) Blackwell, Chapel Hill, TN; sons, Harvey (Trish) Holton, Lewisburg, TN, Greg Holton, Chapel Hill, TN, T. Wade (Lynette) Holton, Laws Hill Comm.; grandchildren, Becky (Tom) Ruban, Jennifer (Jeremy) Daughrity, Will (Shannon) Holton, Andy (Jennifer) Blackwell, Lucas (Shannan) Holton, Sean (Jessica) Aagard; great grandchildren, Drew, Elizabeth, Lance, Carolyn, Jack, Stella, Charleigh, Michael, Ben and Ruby.

Family members will receive friends on Monday, June 20, 2016 from 1:00 until 3:00 pm at Lawrence Funeral Home. Funeral services will be conducted at 3:00 pm from the chapel of Lawrence Funeral Home with Bill Preston and Rev. Larry Chatman officiating. Burial will follow in Swanson Cemetery in Chapel Hill. Grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
