Gordon Lamb

Gordon Woodard Lamb, beloved patriarch of the Lamb family, died at his home in Eagleville, TN on May 13, 2016 at the age of 89 surrounded by his family and friends. Mr. Lamb was born in Maury County and was a son of the late Holt and Lucille Broadway Lamb. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 63 years, Mary Alice Haynes Lamb, who died in 2011, and a daughter, Brenda Hobbs.

Mr. Lamb had a fulfilling life of service to his family, his friends and the Eagleville community. He retired after 36 years from the Tennessee State Highway Department and was an active farmer throughout his life. Until his death, Mr. Lamb was a dedicated member of the Eagleville United Methodist Church, the Eagleville Lions Club, and President of the Eagleville Community Center Association (ECCA). Mr. Lamb’s most notable role was that of a father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, proudly supporting his family at ballgames, performances, birthday parties and other milestone events.

Mr. Lamb is survived by four children, Don (Ginger) Lamb, Eagleville, TN, Joyce (Jerry) Jones, Eagleville, TN, Jimmy (Jean) Lamb, Unionville, TN, Randall (Anne) Lamb, Eagleville, TN; grandchildren, Eric (Nancy) Marlin, Kevin (Dixie) Marlin, Deanna (Mike) Freise, Chad (Jodi) Lamb, Amanda (Jason) Tanner, Jennifer (Brian) Cooper, Leslie Lamb, Lee (Samantha) Jones, Dustin (Andriana) Lamb, Mac (Erika) Jones; great-grandchildren, Hunter (Olivia) Marlin, Courtney Marlin, Savannah Marlin, Cason Lamb, Grant Cooper, Lane Freise, Sophie Lamb, Wyatt Tanner, Luke Cooper, Sutton Lamb, Liza Freise, Emma Cooper, and Gunner Jones.

Visitation will be Sunday, May 15, 2016 from 2:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Lawrence Funeral Home in Chapel Hill. Family members will also receive friends on Monday, May 16, 2016 from 1:00 until 2:30 p.m. at Eagleville United Methodist Church, Eagleville, TN with funeral services to follow at 2:30 p.m.at the church with Pastor Sharon Austell officiating. Burial will follow at Triune Cemetery, Triune, TN.
