Mary Margarette Harwell

Mrs. Mary Margarette Beckham Parks Harwell, age 96, of Franklin, Tennessee, died Wednesday, August 10, 2016 in Franklin, Tennessee. Mrs. Harwell was born in Marshall County and was a daughter of the late Robert Levi and Elatia Josephine Hopper Beckham and the step-daughter of the late Bryant E. Landis, Sr. She was a homemaker and retired sales associate in the Tampa, FL area. Mrs. Harwell was a member of the United Methodist Church and the United Methodist Women. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Arthur Riggs Parks, Jr., who died in 1960, her second husband, Wilkes LaFayette Harwell, who died in 1982; a son, Riggs Parks, who died in 1983 and five step-brothers and sisters.

Mrs. Harwell is survived by two daughters, Rosemary (Ben) Smithson, Franklin, TN, Ann (Bill) Petersen, Royal Palm Beach, FL; daughter-in-law, Lola Parks, Donelson, TN; grandchildren, Michele Grigsby, Jeff (Susan) Smithson, Brandy Petersen, Beau Petersen, Brett Petersen; great grandsons, John Grigsby, Jack Smithson, Walter Smithson.

Family members will receive friends on Sunday, August 14, 2016 from 12:00 noon until 2:30 p.m. at Lawrence Funeral Home. Funeral services will follow at 2:30 p.m. on Sunday from the chapel of Lawrence Funeral Home with Rev. Regina Proctor officiating. Burial will follow in Triune Cemetery, Triune TN.

Grandsons and great grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
