Dear Dot, Sammy, Danny & James....
We heard this morning from Linda & Clyde that Uncle Melvin had passed. We are sorry that we won't be able to be with you in person this weekend, but know that you are all in our thoughts and prayers. We love you and miss you and think of you often. I remember the last time I saw Uncle Melvin was at the "first cousins" reunion in August 2009 - he was moving slow, but still had that smile and sparkle in his eyes....he would always cut up with us kids to make us laugh. All daddy could talk about for weeks after we got home was what a great time he had and how good it was to see his brother and all his cousins (I'm SO glad we made the trip!!) I am trying to get in touch with Bill to let him know about Uncle Melvin (he's serving in Afghanistan right now)...please keep hiim in your prayers that God will protect him and bring him home safely. We send a big hug to you Dot and pray that the loving arms of our Heavenly Father will comfort you. WE LOVE YOU!!!!!

Mrs. Dot - So sorry to hear of Charles Melvin's passing. I know he is rejoicing in Heaven, but it is never easy to say good-bye. I will never see or hear of Caramel or Butterscotch Pie that I don't think of the good times we had at Reba's table. I will always appreciate the kind words he shared at the funerals of Reba and my Dad. I am thankful for the love he has shown my family and the guidance he gave my boys when they were young. You were always by his side. I know he will be missed by many. He was much loved. We will not be able to be at the visitation or the funeral due to prior commitments, but know you will be in our hearts, thoughts, and prayers.

Much love,
Patsy
