Barbara Shires

Mrs. Barbara Elrod Shires, age 81, of the Caney Spring Community of Marshall County, died Wednesday, June 6, 2018 in Columbia, Tennessee. Mrs. Shires was born in Marshall County and was a daughter of the late Jack and Cecil Mae Troop Elrod. She was a life long homemaker and a very active member of the Chapel Hill Cumberland Presbyterian Church. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Shires was preceded in death by her husband, Guinn Gene Shires, who died in 2014, and a brother, Charles “Bud” Elrod.

Mrs. Shires is survived by her son, Jeff (Dru) Shires, Unionville, TN; grandsons, Daniel (Melanie) Lambert and Dustin (Jenifer) Lambert; great grandchildren, Michael (Ali) Lambert, Chase Lambert, Melissa Lambert, Elsie Lambert, Sylvia Lambert and Sydney Lambert; niece, LeAnn Elrod.

Family members will receive friends on Friday, June 8, 2018 from 4:00 until 8:00 p.m. at Lawrence Funeral Home. Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, June 9, 2018 from the chapel of Lawrence Funeral Home with Rev. Dustin Lambert and Rev. Joe Wiggins officiating. Burial will follow in Allen Cemetery in the Caney Spring community.

E.W. Hill, Dustin Lambert, Daniel Lambert, Chase Lambert, Brent Johns and Brian Johns will serve as pallbearers.
