Buford "Boots" Nix

Mr. Buford “Boots” Nix, Sr., age 83, of Chapel Hill, TN, formerly of Nashville, TN died Monday, October 8, 2018 in Nashville, TN.  He was a native of Alabama and was a son of the late Frank and Emma Laurel Stinson Nix.  Boots was a retired brick mason and a member of the Christian faith.  He served in the United States Army and was a member of the Sons of the Confederacy. Boots served as the caretaker for the Nathan Bedford Forrest home place for over 21 years.  In addition to his parents, Boots was preceded in death by his sister, Ruth McMullen, and brothers, Martin Nix and Charles Nix.

Mr. Nix is survived by his son, Buford “Buddy” Nix, Jr. of Nashville, TN and his special animal companions, Rosebud and Lieber.

Visitation with the family will be from 4 PM until 8 PM on Friday, October 12, 2018 at Lawrence Funeral Home.  Graveside services will be conducted at 1 PM on Saturday, October 13, 2018 at Swanson Cemetery.  Interment will follow at Swanson Cemetery in Chapel Hill, TN.
