George Ralston

Mr. George Andrew Ralston, age 83, of Unionville, TN, died on Sunday, August 18, 2019, in Shelbyville, TN.

Mr. Ralston was born in Marshall County to his late parents Willie Robert Ralston and Dola McCullough Ralston and he was educated and raised in Bedford County. He was a graduate of Community High School and a former Tennessee National Guardsman. Mr. Ralston retired from General Felt Company of Shelbyville, TN as a maintenance supervisor and then went on to operate his own dairy farm on Cedar Grove Road, from where he later retired. He was also a founding member of the Community Lions Club chapter and an Elder of Rocky Glade Cumberland Presbyterian Church of Eagleville, TN. In addition to his parents, Mr. Ralston was preceded in death by a sister, Mary Frances Ralston.

Mr. Ralston is survived by his wife of 58 years, Mary Esther Lane Ralston, Unionville, TN; sons, James Andrew (Cherry) Ralston, Chapel Hill, TN, and Robert Edward (Carla) Ralston, Shelbyville, TN; daughter, Mary Frances (Jimmy) Jarrell, Chapel Hill, TN; grandsons, Aaron Jarrell, Stone and Gage Ralston, Levi Ralston; great grandson, Austin Jarrell; sister, Bobbie Jean Boyce.

Family will receive friends on Tuesday, August 20, 2019, from 4:00pm until 8:00pm at Lawrence Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, August 21, 2019, at 2:00pm, in the chapel of Lawrence Funeral Home with Rev. Jimmy Sorrells officiating. Burial will follow in Joyce-Epperson Cemetery in the Cedar Grove Community.
