Mr. Jammie Darnell, age 50, of Murfreesboro, Tennessee, formerly of Chapel Hill, Tennessee, died Friday, September 6, 2019 in Murfreesboro. Mr. Darnell was born in Gallatin, Tennessee and was a contractor.
He was a graduate of the Class of 1987 at Forrest High School in Chapel Hill where he was a member of the Forrest Rockets football team all four years of high school. Following graduation, Jammie attended Marion Military Institute in Marion, Alabama, again playing football during his two years there. After completion of the program at Marion Military Institute, Jammie transferred to Middle Tennessee State University in Murfreesboro and graduated with a bachelor’s degree in 1993. Jammie attended New Vision Baptist Church in Murfreesboro, TN and was preceded in death by his father, Charles Hershel Darnell who died in 2010.
Jammie is survived by his wife of 21 years, Julie Darnell, Murfreesboro, TN; daughters, Kaitlyn Darnell and Allison Darnell, both of Murfreesboro, TN; mother, Marie Darnell, Chapel Hill, TN; brothers, Chuck (Nancy) Darnell, Eagleville, TN, Joe (Jan) Darnell, Jeff (Jan) Darnell, and Jimmy (Tasha) Darnell, all of Chapel Hill, TN; aunt, Judy (Ray) Armstrong, Shelbyville, TN.
Family members will receive friends on Monday, September 9, 2019 from 4:00 until 8:00 p.m. at Lawrence Funeral Home. Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, September 10, 2019 from the chapel of Lawrence Funeral Home with Rev. Jimmy Tedder and Neyland Darnell officiating. Burial will follow in Hopper Cemetery near Chapel Hill.
Edgar Luna, Jeremy Cates, Adam Ezell, Darnell Fulton, Larry Beasley, John David Sheppard, Justin Darnell, Chris Darnell, Jesse Darnell, and David Delk will serve as pallbearers.
