Jerald "Jerry" Giles

Chapel Hill

Mr. Jerry Giles, age 87, of the Moon Bend Community of Chapel Hill, died Sunday, July 28, 2019 at his home after an extended illness.

Mr. Giles was born in Marshall County and was a son of the late Thomas Watson and Maude Ellen Crick Giles. He served his Country in the United States Air Force. Following his time in service, he returned home and was a life long farmer, and a member of Rays Chapel United Methodist Church. Until recently, Mr. Giles was very active in Masonic service and was a member of Chapel Hill Masonic Lodge # 160, a 32 degree Scottish Rite Mason and a member of the Shrine organization.

Mr. Giles is survived by his wife of 65 years, Joan Giles, Chapel Hill, TN; daughter, Candy (Gene) Ezell, Chapel Hill, TN; son, Dale (Lynn) Giles, Chapel Hill, TN; brother, Larry (Joyce) Giles, Lewisburg, TN; three grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.

Family members will receive friends on Tuesday, July 30, 2019 from 4:00 until 8:00 p.m. at Lawrence Funeral Home. Funeral services will be conducted at 10:00 am on Wednesday, July 31, 2019 from the chapel of Lawrence Funeral Home with Rev. Mike Giles officiating. Burial, with military honors, will be in Simpson Cemetery in the Rover Community of Bedford County.

Tyler Ezell, Chris Giles, Rene’ Arias, Tommy Gentry, Charles Crick, Freeman Jordan, Joe Hill, and Clint Bowman will serve as pallbearers.
