Oscar Poteet

Mr. Oscar Colman Poteet, age 98, of the Laws Hill community, died Tuesday, February 27, 2018 in Lewisburg. Born in Claiborne Co., TN, Mr. Poteet was a son of the late John Logan Poteet and Martha Jane Blackburn Poteet. He was a World War II veteran having served in the U.S. Army and was a retired farmer. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Mable Lucille Stanfill Poteet; a son, Kenneth Milburn; 4 sisters and 1 brother.

Survived by 2 daughters, Jewell Wiles of Lewisburg and Linda Hand of Pegram, TN; a son Dewey Poteet of the Laws Hill community; 4 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.

Visitation and Funeral Services will be Thursday, Mar. 1, 2018 at Lawrence Funeral Home. The Visitation will be from 11AM – 1:00PM followed by the funeral service at 1PM from the chapel of Lawrence Funeral Home. Burial will follow at the Hopper Cemetery near Chapel Hill.
