Betty Epperson Reed Hermann Trout

Mrs. Betty Epperson Reed Hermann Trout, age 88, of Asheville, North Carolina, died Monday, February 14, 2022 in Asheville.

Mrs. Trout was born in Bedford County, Tennessee and was a daughter of the late M. J. and Jenny Lee Slaughter Epperson. She was a retired Medical Assistant and member of Trinity Baptist Church in Murfreesboro, TN. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Trout was also preceded in death by her husbands, Harold Neil Reed, who died in 1965, Nicholas Alois Hermann, who died in 2006, and Billie Trout, who died in 2015. She was also preceded in death by her sisters, Mildred Hudson, Jessie Lee Gillespie, Myrtle Bigham and Auline Street; and brother, J. W. Epperson.

Mrs. Trout is survived by her son, Mark, and daughter-in-law, Kelly, Hermann of Asheville, NC; her step-son, Billy, and daughter-in-law, Ann, Trout of Murfreesboro, TN; her granddaughter Sarah, and grandson-in-law, Chris, Kottmeyer of Acworth, GA; her grandson, Alec Hermann, Ashville, NC; her great granddaughter, Diana Kottmeyer, Acworth, GA; and her step-grandchildren, step-great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

Family members will receive friends on Friday, February 18, 2022 from 5:00 until 8:00 p.m. at Lawrence Funeral Home. Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 am on Saturday, February 19, 2022 from the chapel of Lawrence Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Joyce – Epperson Cemetery near Chapel Hill.

Mark Hermann, Billy Trout, Alec Hermann, Danny Fisher, Johnny Gillespie, Jimmy Joe Gillespie, Jared Lafaver, Brad Heifner and Tony Hudson will serve as pallbearers.
