Bettye S. Whitaker

Mrs. Bettye S. Whitaker, age 84, of Unionville, TN died Tuesday, April 16, 2019 at her residence.  She was a native of Monroe, LA and a daughter of the late Charles Jean and Lottie Lee Newman Shirah.  Mrs. Whitaker was a homemaker and member of Ray’s Chapel United Methodist Church.  She was also a member of the Lady’s Red Hat Society.

Mrs. Whitaker is survived by her husband of almost 65 years, Bro. Jim Whitaker of Unionville, TN; sons, Stuart (Nancy) Whitaker of Savannah, GA and James Keith (Cheryl) Whitaker of Burlington, VT; sister, Frances Gibson of Warner Robins, GA; 4 grandchildren, Melissa Miles, Dustin Kendra Norris, James T. Whitaker, and Shannon White; and 14 great grandchildren.

The family will be holding a Celebration of Life at their residence at a later time.
