Billie Jane Whitehurst

Mrs. Billie Jane Campbell Whitehurst, age 81, of Eagleville, TN passed away Saturday, August 29, 2026. Born in Williamson Co., Mrs. Whitehurst was a daughter of the late Hassel Campbell and Viola Lurene Harper Campbell. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Melody Thomas.

Billie Jane lived a rich and full life. She would say shes not rich to most standards but, she was rich in love. She loved her family, from her husband of 63 years, to raising her 2 boys, helping with her grandchildren, nieces, nephews and even being able to watch her first great-grand child. She would never turn down a time to watch or set with or even have a sleep over. Unless she was headed to or already at the beach! Just about any day you could catch her in her chair wrapped up in a good book, with her dog in her lap or if it was a friday or saturday night, they would be eating dinner with friend or slow dancing at one of their friends dance barns, she'd never turn down a line dance and about knew them all. She tried to make it to every game any of the kids from all the generations ever played. To say she will be sorely missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her is an understatement. She grew up a member of Cool Springs Baptist Church and was a member of Christ Church Arrington that her family built. 

She is survived by her husband, Jimmy Seay Whitehurst of Eagleville, TN; her sons, Joey Whitehurst or Eagleville, TN, Marty (Jackie) Whitehurst of Nashville, TN; her sisters, Joan Clark and Annie May Parks; brothers, Hassel Campbell, Jr and Jimmy Carl(Sherrie) Campbell; grand children, Megan (Adam) Ladd, Jimmy Whitehurst, Abbey (Aaron) Burch, Taylor Whitehurst and Jacob Whitehurst; Great-Grand Children, Auryn Ladd, Dallas Whitehurst and Adelaine Burch, amany beloved nieces, nephews and her beloved 4-legged companion Oliver. 

Visitation will be from 4 PM – 6 PM, Thursday, September 3, 2026 at Lawrence Funeral Home. The Memorial Service will follow the visitation at 6 PM from the Chapel of Lawrence Funeral Home.
