Clyde Delon Smotherman

Mr. Clyde Delon Smotherman, age 90, of Rockvale, TN, died Thursday, Aug. 29,2024. Born in Rutherford Co., Mr. Smotherman was a son of the late Willie Dee Smotherman and Annie Lee Wright Smotherman. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his two sisters and two brothers. Mr. Smotherman was a retired construction superintendent. He spent his career as a maintenance man, carpenter, foreman, and finally superintendent, where he acted as a principal on the construction of the Nissan plant in Smyrna. He was an exquisite craftsman and leaves several fine pieces for his family. And more than anything else, he loved mowing his lawn as often as it needed.

Survived by a daughter, Darlene Shehane of Rockvale, TN; 2 sons, William (Reanetta) Steagall of New Market, AL and Jeffery Delon Smotherman of Lorton, VA; 5 grandchildren, Jason Fulghum, Lindsey Christian, Patrick Shehane, Keondra Steagall, and Charles Steagall; 16 great- grandchildren and; 3 great-great grandchildren.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
