Mr. David Earl Gentry, Sr., age 72, of the Wheel community of Bedford Co., died Friday, May 12, 2017. Born in Marshall Co., Mr. Gentry was a son of the late Earl Odell Gentry and Mary Nell Twitty Gentry. He was a retired truck driver. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Mary Gentry Powell.
Survived by 2 daughters, Tara (Lee) Groce of Lynchburg, TN; Kim Melligan of NJ; a son, David Earl (Robin) Gentry, Jr. of Murfreesboro, TN; 2 sisters, Ruth Ann (James) Kimbrell of the Wheel community; Betty Marie (Gene) Molder of Unionville, TN; a brother, Paul (Betty) Gentry of the Bedford community; 4 grandchildren, Kallie Groce; Rylee Groce; Adam (Celina) Anderson; Amy Anderson; a great-grandson, Paxton Anderson.
Visitation will be Monday, May 15, 2017 from 4pm-8pm at Lawrence Funeral Home in Chapel Hill. Funeral services will be conducted at 10am, Tuesday, May 16, 2017 from the chapel of Lawrence Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Simpson Cemetery in the Rover community.
