David Trout

Mr. David Trout, age 93, of the Holt’s Corner Community in Marshall County, TN passed away on Tuesday, July 7, 2026 at NHC Cool Springs Place in Franklin, TN. He was born in Marshall County, TN and was a son of the late Jasper Herman Trout and Elizabeth Adelle Barnes Trout. Mr. Trout was retired from the United States Postal Service where he served as Post Master in Chapel Hill for over 39 years. He served in the United States Army and was a member of Holt’s Corner Baptist Church. Mr. Trout was a graduate of Forrest High School. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his loving wife of 72 years, Mrs. Elizabeth Darnell Trout, son, Ricky Trout, sisters, Lillian Smith, Pauline Hamilton, Bobbie Taylor, Elizabeth “Beth” Meadows, infant Margaret Helen Trout, brothers, J.B. Trout, Glenn Trout, and Billy Frank Trout.

Mr. David had a passion for the outdoors, especially farming and gardening. He had a deep love for the University of Tennessee Vols sports. Over the years, he enjoyed going to yard sales with Mrs. Elizabeth. Most of all, he loved his family and spending time with them.

Mr. Trout is survived by his children, Debbie (Ricky) Daughrity of Chapel Hill, TN, Terry Trout of Murfreesboro, TN; daughter in law, Gail Trout of the Holt’s Corner Community; brothers, Jerry Trout of Chapel Hill, TN, Ronnie (Annette) Trout of Chapel Hill, TN; 5 grandchildren, Melissa (Davy) McClaran, Karen LeMay, Brad Trout, Leanne (Rick) Burnham, Andrew (Caroline) Trout; 9 great grandchildren; 4 great great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

Visitation with the family will be on Friday, July 10, 2026, from 12 Noon until 2 PM at Lawrence Funeral Home. The funeral service will be conducted on Friday, July 10, 2026 from the Chapel of Lawrence Funeral Home at 2 PM with Rev. Larry Chatman officiating. Interment will follow in Swanson Cemetery in Chapel Hill, TN.

Brad Trout, Andrew Trout, Davy McClaran, Rick Burnham, Nathan Trout, Brett Burnham, Blake Burnham, Ryley McClaran, and Owen McClaran will serve as pallbearers.
