Dixon Pruitt
September 22, 1918 — February 24, 2017
Mr. Dixon Grant Pruitt, age 98, of Shelbyville, TN, died Friday, February 24, 2017. Born in Marshall Co., Mr. Pruitt was a son of the late Ulysses Grant Pruitt and Lillie Johnson Pruitt. He was retired from Lone Star Gas Co. in Texas and was a veteran of the U.S. Army. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Essie Youngblood Pruitt and 7 brothers and 2 sisters.
Mr. Pruitt is survived by a sister, Maggie Pruitt Barnes of Fayetteville, TN; and nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be Saturday, February 25, 2017 at Lawrence Funeral Home beginning at 10 AM and followed by a funeral service at 11 AM. Burial will be at Swanson Cemetery in Chapel Hill
