Mrs. Dorothy "Dot" Lawrence Appleton, age 100, of Nashville , TN, died Monday, November 6, 2017. Born in Marshall Co., TN, Mrs. Appleton was a daughter of the late Thomas H. Lawrence and Mary Sue White Lawrence. She was retired as a payroll clerk with the Tennessee Department of Agriculture. Mrs. Appleton was also a member of Forest Hills United Methodist Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, Ralph Powell Appleton; a sister, Helen Lawrence Martin; 2 brothers, Thomas H. Lawrence, Jr. and Garrett Holt Lawrence, Sr.
Survived by Nieces and Nephews; Sue (John) Groomes, Emily (Jerry) Gordon, Vivian (Chuck) Coble, Garry (Debra) Lawrence, Tommy Lawrence, Phil (Donna) Martin,Eddie Martin, Margie (John) Prather and Mary Martin.
Family members would like to express a special thanks to the caring staff of Park Manor for the loving attention they have given to Dot during the several years she has resided there.
A graveside service will be conducted at 3PM, Sunday, November 12, 2017 at Swanson Cemetery in Chapel Hill, TN.
