Obituary

Mrs. Dorothy “Dot” H. Griffy, age 83, of Chapel Hill, TN passed away June 11, 2026, in Nashville, TN. Dot was born April 7, 1943, to the late John Henry Bolden and Mattie Eliza Sanders Bolden. Mrs. Dot was a member of Holts Corner Baptist Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her 10 siblings.

Dot loved her family dearly. She loved spending time with them and being active with her grandchildren. Dot was known to make you full from her cooking and smile with her ability to grow flowers. Her heart was big for her community and friends. She had a joy for her Bible Study Class. One of the many memories that will be remembered were the beach vacation trips. She looked forward to those trips and spending time with her family.

Dot is survived by her husband of 64 years, David Griffy of Chapel Hill, TN; her daughters, Kim (Ricky) Hazel of Chapel Hill, TN and Kristi (David) Harper of College Grove, TN ; five grandchildren, Justin (Vickie) Hazel, Susan Hazel, Joseph Harper, Brady Harper, and Mason Harper; 3 great grandchildren, Easton Hazel, Camden Hazel, and Hendrix Harper; several nieces and nephews as well as many friends who will remember her.

A Visitation with the Griffy Family will be on Monday, June 15, 2026, at 11AM from 1PM at Lawrence Funeral Home. The Funeral Service will be Monday, June 15, 2026, at 1PM from the Chapel of Lawrence Funeral Home with Rev. Larry Chatman officiating. Burial to follow in Swanson Cemetery in Chapel Hill, TN.

Memorial Donations may be to Holts Corner Baptist Church, 5791 Thick Rd. Chapel Hill, TN 37034.
