Earl Massey
February 16, 1935 — July 30, 2015
Mr. Earl D Massey, Jr., age 80, died Thursday, July 30, 2015 at his residence. He was a son of the late George Edward and Willie Icey Teague Massey and a member of the Community Baptist Church in Chapel Hill, TN. Mr. Earl was retired from the United States Navy and from the Town of Chapel Hill and a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Mable Louise Clayton Massey and a son Joseph Massey.
Mr. Massey is survived by his adopted daughter, Judi West of Spring Hill, TN; son, Tommy Massey of New Jersey; brother, George E. (Claira) Massey, Jr. of Jacksonville, AR; grandsons, Dylan Massey of Virginia and Connor Cotter of Lebanon, TN; niece, Pamela Peters, and nephew, Christopher Massey, several great nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held from 4-7 PM on Saturday, August 1, 2015 at Lawrence Funeral Home. Funeral services were conducted 2 PM on Sunday, August 2, 2015 from the Chapel of Lawrence Funeral Home with Rev. Don McMurray officiating. Interment with military honors was at Swanson Cemetery in Chapel Hill, TN.
