It is with heavy hearts and profound sadness that we announce the passing of Ethan Woodson Adgent Patterson, who left this world far too soon on October 18, 2026, at the age of 21. Born on August 19, 2005, weighing just 2 pounds, 4 ounces, Ethan came into this world tiny but mighty, ready to conquer the world. He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Jackie Patterson.
From the very beginning, he showed a strength and determination that would follow him throughout his life. Ethan grew into a big-hearted, hardworking young man who wasn't afraid to get his hands dirty. Whether he was turning wrenches, pulling tractors, or working on his next project, he had a passion for anything with an engine. He loved traveling the country, spending time with his friends and family, and making memories along the way. Ethan lived life his own way, finding happiness in the simple things and the people around him. His hardworking nature, adventurous spirit, and love for those closest to him are just a few of the things that made him so special.
Ethan leaves behind his loving mother, Cayla Journey (Richard); father, Matt Patterson; grandparents, Steve Adgent (Rose), BoNanner and Pops, and Ethel Patterson, Granny; siblings, Eligh Patterson and Enzley Patterson; step-siblings, Kenzi Journey, Kenlin Journey, and Kinley Journey; and uncles, Cody Adgent and Jackie Patterson Jr., his girlfriend, Kellie Ginther, along with many other family members and friends who loved him dearly.
Visitation with the family will be Wednesday, October 21, 2026, from 4PM - 8PM. The funeral service will take place Thursday, October 22, 2026, at 11AM from the Chapel of Lawrence Funeral Home with friends and family honoring him. Burial will follow in the Cothran Cemetery.
No amount of time could ever have been enough with Ethan, but the 21 years he gave this world were filled with purpose, determination, and a life uniquely his own. His absence will be felt in countless ways, from the quiet moments at home to the places where his laughter once filled the air. The world will never be quite the same without him.
Memorial Donations can be made to Ethan Adgent Patterson Memorial Fund at First Commerce Bank.
