Gary Niel Gentry

Mr. Gary Niel Gentry, age 64, of Mt. Juliet, TN, passed away Friday, September 5, 2025. Gary was born November 14, 1960 in Pekin, IL to the late William Tiller Gentry and Barbara Joann Kimes Gentry. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother Randy Alan Gentry.

Mr. Gary was a loving husband. He loved deeply and cared for his wife passionately. You could always find them together. He had a special love for music. You could find him listening to the Beatles often. Gary was an avid bass player and an accomplished songwriter. He loved going to the beach and the mountains. He was a big Tennessee Titans fan.

Mr. Gary is survived by his wife of 7 years, Amy Gentry of Mt. Juliet, TN; aunt, Cathie (Emerson “Buz”) La Forte of Murfreesboro, TN; stepson, Jacob Gamble of Lebanon, TN; brother-in-laws, William “Skip” (Melissa Gay) Carpenter of Mt. Juliet, TN, Ken (Sue) Carpenter of Madison, WI; sister-in-laws, Kathy Macans of Maryville, TN, and Patti (Rich) Shaw of Maryville, TN; as well as several cousins also survive.

The family will celebrate and honor his life at a later date.
