Geneva Moore

Geneva Moore, 100, passed away peacefully on September 8, 2025. She was the heart and cornerstone of our family — the steady presence who held generations together with love and grace.

Born and raised in Tennessee, Geneva often spoke fondly of her upbringing, family, and friends there. Though she spent most of her life in Illinois, her heart never left her hometown. In keeping with her final wishes, she will be laid to rest beside her beloved husband in Tennessee.

Geneva was the cherished daughter of Ivie and Baxter Adgent, devoted wife of the late William Moore, and loving mother of Brenda Ward, Miriam Crawford, and Reta Walker. She was a proud grandmother to Lisa (Mark) , Jason, Jennifer (Mike), Dean, Vasilio (Yolanda), Shawn, Phillip, and Nicolas. She also leaves behind many great & great-great-grandchildren who loved her dearly.

A graveside service will be held at Swanson Cemetery in Chapel Hill on October 17th at 10 a.m. to honor and celebrate her remarkable life.
