Mrs. Harriet Lane Griffy, age 64, of Smyrna, TN, died Wed., Apr. 2, 2014. Born in Lumberton, NC, Mrs. Griffy was a daughter of the late Luther Bradley Atkinson and Gladys Ruth Bass Atkinson. She was formerly a mail room clerk for Ingram Book Co. and was a member of the Florence Church of Christ in Rutherford Co.
Survived by her husband, Gene Griffy of Smyrna, TN; a daughter, Cindy Avant of Smyrna, TN; 2 sisters, Joyce (Willie) Inman of Evergreen, NC; Kay Hendrick of Conway, SC; a brother, Jerry (Melinda) Atkinson of Smyrna, TN; 2 grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 4PM-8PM, Fri., Apr. 4, 2014 at Lawrence Funeral Home. Funeral services will be conducted at 11AM, Sat., Apr. 5, 2014 from the chapel of Lawrence Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Swanson Cemetery in Chapel Hill.
