Herbert Bovard Crick

Mr. Herbert Bovard Crick, age 97, of Eagleville, TN, passed away on Wednesday, August 12, 2026 in Murfreesboro, TN. He was born in Bedford County, TN to the late Horace Maynard Crick and Lillie Frances Davis Crick. Mr. Herbert was retired from the Postal Service with 33 ½ years of service. He was a member of the United Methodist Church and served our country in the United States Army. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 66 years, Mary Evelyn Allen Crick in 2014, and a daughter, Emily Susan Crick Rucinski in 2017.

Mr. Herbert loved the game of golf including playing golf and his volunteer work at Henry Horton State Park Golf Course. He was a Master Craftsman in woodworking. He had a passion for genealogy and history. He was a dedicated and faithful church member and loved his time spent playing Skip-Bo cards with his cherished friends. Most of all he enjoyed time spent with family and making memories with them.

Mr. Crick is survived by his daughter, Lori Beth Crick (James) Curlee of Eagleville, TN; brother, Robert Curtis Crick of Little Rock, AR; sister, Frances Ellen Victory-Oldham of Murfreesboro. TN; special friend, Reba Mitchell of Smyrna, TN; numerous other family members including his nieces and nephews.

Visitation with the family will be on Saturday, August 15, 2026 from 9 AM until 11 AM at Lawrence Funeral Home. The funeral service will be conducted on Saturday, August 15, 2026 at 11 AM from the Chapel of Lawrence Funeral Home with Pastor Sharon Austell officiating. Interment will follow at Simpson Cemetery in the Rover Community of Bedford County, TN.

Pallbearers will be Greg Duke, Rob Crick, Danny Crick, Mike Crick, Kenneth Curlee, Tyler Lamb. Honorary pallbearers will be Dick Batts, Ed Smotherman, Jimmy Crick, Bill Harris, Tom Crick, Mike Moorehead, Merkle Rigsby, Lewis Curlee, Richard Pruitt, and Leslie Kelly.
