Howard Freeman Jackson

Mr. Howard Freeman Jackson, age 86, of Chapel Hill, TN, died on Saturday, June 25, 2022 in Murfreesboro, TN.  He was born in Alamo, TN and was the son of the late Jesse Howard Jackson and Ada Beatrice Freeman Jackson Bridges. Mr. Howard was a member of Grove Hill Church in Chapel Hill, TN and proudly served our country in the United States Air Force.  He was retired as an Assistant Vice President for Service Merchandise Corporation, and later, as Vice President of Southeast Power Equipment.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Carol Jackson, and a brother, Jesse Jackson; brother-in-law, Gail Mayhew.

Mr. Howard loved watching western movies.  He was an avid golfer and gardener.  He truly enjoyed good food and spending time at the Country Diner.

Mr. Jackson is survived by his loving wife of 30 years, Mrs. Joyce Jackson of Chapel Hill, TN; children, Jeffrey (Dana) Wair of Diamondhead, MS, Gary (Paddy) Wair of Murfreesboro, TN; 9 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; sister, Shelvy Mayhew, of Memphis, TN, Juanita Merritt of Virginia; and brother, John Jackson of California.

Visitation with the family will be on Saturday, July 9, 2022 from 1:30 PM until 3 PM at Grove Hill Church, 5216 Nashville Highway, Chapel Hill, TN.   A Celebration of Life Service will be conducted at 3 PM on Saturday, July 9, 2022 at the church with Pastor Ridley Barron officiating.  Interment will be later at Harpeth Hills Memory Gardens in Nashville, TN.
