James Wilkinson

James “Jimmy” Riley Wilkinson of Eagleville, TN died peacefully the morning of January 3rd, 2023 at Alive Hospice in Murfreesboro. He was the son of the late James Hamilton and Jeannette Gertrude (Wheeler) Wilkinson. He was born in Eagleville on December 14th, 1939. Jimmy was also proceeded in death by his wife, Ellie Lou (Scott) Wilkinson. Jimmy is survived by his son Ricky and daughter-in- law Angela.

Jimmy and Ellie owned and operated a grocery store in Chapel Hill, TN for 20 years. Jimmy also worked at the Puckett Bros. Grocery in Eagleville and Triune, TN for many years. Over the years he and Ellie traveled to many places with fellow motorcycle friends. Jimmy also enjoyed many years piloting.

The family would like to extend special gratitude to the following; Willow Springs Assisted Living (Spring Hill, TN) – from the eldercare advisor, administrator, caregivers, event planner and cooks all provided compassion beyond measure. Adoration Hospice – Bobby, Paul, Leon and Tom you were all a guiding light and shoulder to lean on. Williamson County Medical Center especially Ellen Taylor, Director of Case Management and Dr. Samuel B. Webb, Supportive and Palliative Care. Both were angels sent from heaven during this most difficult time. Alive Hospice of Murfreesboro – everyone there treated Jimmy as if he was a member of their own family. The staff and facility provided the solace needed by those who were by his side every day. Lastly, two very special ladies came to our rescue and opened their homes to Jimmy’s furry-companions when he was no longer able to provide the care they deserved. You will furever hold a special place in our hearts for the love you are providing these girls. Each of you listed above exemplify what God commands us in John 5:12 - “This is my commandment, That you love one another, as I have loved you.”

Graveside services will be conducted at Pressgrove Cemetery (1585 Unionville-Deason Road in Shelbyville, TN) on Friday – January 6th, 2023 at 1:00 PM with Hershel Rich officiating. Pallbearers will be Hershel Rich, Walter Rich, Tommy Harber, Tommy Howell, Bruce Martin and Tanner Crutcher. “Thank you for carrying Jimmy on his final journey here on earth.”
