James H. Giles

Mr. James H. Giles, age 97, of Tullahoma, TN, passed away Wednesday, October 5, 2022 at his residence.  He was a native of Williamson County, TN and was a son of the late Arthur Ernest Giles and Bessie Orum Giles.  Mr. Giles was a member of Wesley Heights Methodist Church and retired from Arnold Engineering Development Center where he worked as a machinist for over 28 years.  James proudly served our country in the United States Marine Corps.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Wattson Giles, Kitt Giles, John Giles, Lewis Giles, Garland Giles, John Jay, Garrett Giles, and sisters, Viola Jones, Elizabeth Sweeney, Jessie Mai Craft, and Jean Domenico.

Mr. James enjoyed fishing and working on small engines.  His great passion was his wine making skills.

Mr. Giles is survived by his loving wife of 73 years, Virginia Joyce Giles of Tullahoma, TN; children, Jim Giles (Patricia Johnson) of Ithaca, NY, Glen Giles of Tullahoma, TN; 3 grandchildren, Shane Giles, Helen Giles, Garrett Giles; 1 great grandchild, Wrigley Giles.

Visitation with the family will be on Tuesday, October 11, 2022 from 11:00 AM until 12 Noon at Lawrence Funeral Home.  Funeral services will be conducted at 12:00 PM on Tuesday, October 11, 2022 from the Chapel of Lawrence Funeral Home with Jamie Pratt officiating.  Interment with military honors will follow in the Giles-Daniels Cemetery in Williamson County, TN.

Family and friends will serve as active pallbearers.
