Mrs. Milton (Jane) Simpson, age 84, of the Rover/Eagleville Community, died Monday, December 24, 2012 at her home in Rover, TN.  Mrs. Simpson was born in Rutherford County and was a daughter of the late Dr. J. E. Stephenson and Mary Claire Hughes Stephenson.  She was a very dedicated Wife, Mother, Grandmother and Great Grandmother and was known by them, and everyone else, as “Mama Jane”.  Mama Jane was a retired school teacher with 31 years of service, teaching in the Rockvale, Chapel Hill and Eagleville school systems.  She was a life long member of the Eagleville United Methodist Church.  She served her church in many ways, but will be remembered most as the choir director for 53 years.  Her church and church family were very important to her and she loved them dearly.  Mrs. Simpson was preceded in death by two sisters, Pauline Stephenson Crick and Virginia Stephenson, two brothers, Dr. George H. Stephenson and Dr. Walter Stephenson and by two great grandchildren, Catherine Grace and Kara Grace McClaran.

Mrs. Simpson is survived by her husband of 61 years, Milton Simpson, Rover TN; daughters, Suzanne (Johnny) McClaran, Eagleville, TN, Rita (George) Boyd, Rover, TN; grandchildren, Davy (Melissa) McClaran, Chapel Hill, TN, Gretchen (Lucas) Thompson, Rockvale, TN; great grandchildren, Ryley and Owen McClaran and Lizzy and Meah Thompson.

Visitation will be Thursday, December 27, 2012 from 4:00 until 8:00 p.m. at Lawrence Funeral Home.  Funeral services will be conducted at 10:00 am on Friday, December 28, 2012 at Eagleville United Methodist Church, Eagleville, TN, with Rev. Jack Gilbert officiating.  Burial will follow in Simpson Cemetery in Rover, TN.
