Joe Winfred Boyce

Mr. Joe Winfred Boyce, age 82, of the Wheel Community in Bedford Co. passed away Friday, July 24, 2026. Born in Bedford Co. Mr. Boyce was a son of the late James Forrest Boyce and Mary Aline Crowell Boyce. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, M.A. Evans and 3 brothers, James Edward Boyce, Marvin Boyce and Billy Ray Boyce.

Joe was an avid NASCAR fan and a great fan of the Andy Griffith Show. He loved his family so much and will be sorely missed by them and his many friends. Joe was a farmer as well as the owner of the former Boyce Hauling Company and served in the Army National Guard. He attended the Independent Baptist Church.

Survived by his wife of 60 years, Linda Williams Boyce of the Wheel Community; a daughter, Jeannie Boyce (Al) Burt of Chapel Hill, TN; 2 sons, Jimmy (Shannon) Boyce of Chapel Hill, TN and Jeff (Karen) Boyce of the Wheel Community; a sister Jewel Williams of the Hall’s Mill Community; a brother, Frank (Mamie) Boyce; 9 grandchildren, Sean Boyce, Joe William Boyce, James Boyce, Candace Boyce, Josh Brown, Aria Brown, Courtney Adams, Rowan Burt and Aidan Burt; 5 great-grandchildren, Lucy Boyce, Chandler Schnapp, Emerson Adams, Finley-Rose Brown and Gavin Waddey.

Visitation will be Tuesday, July 28, 2026 from 2PM – 4PM at Lawrence Funeral Home. The Funeral Service will follow at 4PM from the chapel of Lawrence Funeral Home. Burial will be at Simpson Cemetery in the Rover Community of Bedford Co.
