Jose Anastacio "Pepe" Urrutia, age 92, of Chapel Hill, TN passed away May 30, 2026. Jose was born June 1, 1933 to Etelvina Urrutia in Valdivia, Chile. He was a member of the Chapel Hill United Methodist Church. He is preceded in death by his wife of 58 years, Enelia Aluzema Urrutia who passed away in 2023.

Jose enjoyed his family and being with them. You could find him going out to eat often and always finding a great meal. When not out traveling to eat, he would be seen at the Chapel Hill Community Center with the Senior Citizens group spending time with them. One of his greatest memories that will be remembered was his love for Willie Nelson.

Jose is survived by his son, Alex (Leigh Anne) Urrutia of Chapel Hill, TN; 4 grandchildren, Nicholas Urrutia, Ryan Childers, Regan Childers, Trey Beahm; a great grandchild, Cameron Urrutia; nieces and nephews, Virgina Harper, Maritiza (Bruce) Rasnick, and Alex Marin.

Visitation will be Friday, June 5, 2026, from 11AM until 1PM at Lawrence Funeral Home. The Funeral Service will take at 1PM from the Chapel of Lawrence Funeral Home with burial to follow in Swanson Cemetery where he will be laid to rest with his wife.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to a charity of one’s choice.
