Laura Jane Canfield

Mrs. Laura Jane Canfield, age 64, of Chapel Hill, TN passed away Tuesday, September 8, 2026 at her residence surrounded by her loved ones. Laura was born on September 12, 1961 in Hammond, IN. She was the daughter of the late Max Burt and Mary Ann Ward Joseph. Laura worked in food service including the Marshall County School System, Lawler’s BBQ, and Rex’s Foodland in Chapel Hill, TN. She was of the Christian faith and proudly served our country in the United States Navy for 6 years. In addition to her parents, Laura was preceded in death by her sister, Valerie Beth Joseph, brother, James Joseph, father in law, Robert Canfield, and brothers in law, Barry Canfield and Clint Canfield.

Laura loved her community and watching Forrest School Athletics. She had a passion for cooking shows and reality shows. She enjoyed the local beauty pageants. Laura loved her family and friends. She was a loving daughter, wife, mother, sister, aunt, and friend. She will be tremendously missed by all that knew her and loved her!

Laura is survived by her loving husband of 39 years that she met while serving in the Navy, Terry Canfield of Chapel Hill, TN; children, Terry (Wendy) Canfield, Jr. of Mt. Pleasant, TN, Tara Canfield of Chapel Hill, TN; siblings, Mark (Kathy) Joseph, Gloria Joseph, Connie Rush, Susie (Andy) Dybel, Michael (Jennifer) Joseph, Pattie Jakubielski, Steve Joseph; sister in law, Shelly Joseph, nieces and nephews; great nieces and great nephews; best friends, Yvonne Shott and Terri Malintika.

Visitation with the family will be on Saturday, September 19 from 11 AM until 1 PM at Lawrence Funeral Home. The Celebration of Life will be on Saturday, September 19, 2026 at 1 PM in the Chapel of Lawrence Funeral Home with Tim Canfield officiating.
