Lela E. Rooker

Lela Evangeline Rooker, 102 years of Eagleville, TN passed away peacefully on September 22,2026 at NHC Murfreesboro. Lela was born on August 27th, 1924, to Elbert Ray and Hazel Williams Ray in Murfreesboro, TN.

Lela had many hobbies but enjoyed spending time in her garden, making her exceptional fruit cake cookies, cooking, and enjoyed her animals but especially her cats. She truly resembled the meaning of a homemaker. She will be remembered as a woman of faith, a close friend to those who meant the most to her and she cherished and loved her family very much.

She is survived by her daughter Connie Rooker, her son Don Rooker (Janie), daughter-in- law Debbie Rooker, granddaughter’s Brandi Rooker (David Goin), Donna Gilliam (Rodney); great granddaughters, Ashton Jones, Bailey Goin (Bella Wilmoth), great grandson Cameron Goin and Great-great granddaughters Jaz, Amira, and Shae.

Lela is preceded in death by her parents, Elbert and Hazel Ray, son Darrel Ray Rooker and sister Helen Swann.

Visitation will be held on Sunday September 27, 2026 from 3:00pm to 5:00pm at Lawrence Funeral Home in Chapel Hill, TN. There will be a Graveside Service held at Roselawn Memorial Gardens, Murfreesboro, TN on Monday September 28th,2026 at 10:00am.
