Leslie Sewell Griffy

Mr. Leslie Sewell Griffy, age 86, of Unionville, TN, passed away Saturday, June 10, 2023 in Franklin, TN.  Mr. Sewell was born in Williamson County, TN and was a son of the late Leslie Ray Griffy and Mary Alice Sullivan Griffy.  He was retired from the United States Postal Service and retired owner and operator of Community Cash Market in Unionville. Mr. Griffy was a graduate of the Forrest High School Class of 1956 and was very involved in the Forrest Alumni Association.  He was a member of Holt’s Corner Baptist Church.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Marjorie Leverette Griffy in 2008, a daughter, Tammy Griffy, sisters, Hettie Hargrove, Betty Leverette, and a brother, William “Bill” Griffy.

Mr. Sewell enjoyed working on old cars and going to ball games.  He truly had pleasure in going with his church group to serve others at the Mission.  Most of all, he loved his family!

Mr. Griffy is survived by his children, Jeff (Janice) Griffy of Columbia, TN, Mark (Lydia) Griffy of Unionville, TN; 3 grandchildren, Patrick (Lindsay) Griffy, Andrea (Wade) Baker, Kyle (Holly) Griffy; 3 great grandchildren, Georgia Kate Griffy, Olivia Griffy, and Linley Baker.

Visitation with the family will be from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM on Tuesday, June 13, 2023 at Lawrence Funeral Home.  Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 PM on Wednesday, June 14, 2023 from the Chapel of Lawrence Funeral Home with Rev. Larry Chatman officiating.  Interment will follow in Cothran Cemetery in the Rover Community of Bedford County, TN.

Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
