Lorenzo Vincion

Mr. Lorenzo Dow “L.D.” Vincion, age 77, of Madison, Tennessee, a man who placed everyone else before himself, died Friday, January 11, 2013 in Nashville, TN.  Mr. Vincion was born in Eagleville, TN and was a son of the late Henry Maynard and Mildred Baxter Farlow Vincion.  He retired after 44 years from the Ford Glass Plant, Nashville.  During this time, he played on many championship softball teams for Ford Glass.  He was a former member of Parkway Baptist Church, a member of Two Rivers Baptist Church and a member of the United Auto Workers Union. In addition to his parents, Mr. Vincion was preceded by his wife, Martha Jane Vincion, who died in 1997 and by a sister, Mary Louise Vincion.

Mr. Vincion is survived by two sons, Phil (Lynli) Vincion, Nashville, TN, Chris (Luciana) Vincion, Charleston, S.C.; sisters, Barbara (Charles) Bowman, Murfreesboro, TN, Alma (Larry) Hazel, Eagleville, TN; brother, Emery Vincion, Shelbyville, TN; grandchildren, Savannah Vincion, Elliott Vincion, Zen Vincion, Kalea Vincion; very special friend, Charlotte Binkley, Nashville, TN; several nieces and nephews.

Family members will receive friends on Tuesday, January 15, 2013 from 3:00 until 8:00 p.m. at Lawrence Funeral Home.  A Celebration of Life Service will be at 11:00 am on Wednesday, January 16, 2013 from the chapel of Lawrence Funeral Home with Rev. J. P. Kirkham and Rev. Sam Mallory officiating.  Family and friends will be encouraged to share their stories and experiences of L.D. at the service.  Burial will follow in Swanson Cemetery in Chapel Hill.

In Lieu of Flowers, Memorial may be made to the Eagleville Community Center,, c/o Don Lamb 583 Old Hwy. 99, Eagleville, TN in memory of L.D. Vincion.
