Mrs. Mae Sue Vernon, age 90, of the Holt’s Corner community, died Sunday, March 10, 2019. Born in Marshall County, TN, she was the daughter of the late Clarence Chris Ferguson and Elizabeth Pearl Haynes Ferguson. Mrs. Vernon was a retired Social Worker for the State of Tennessee, Department of Children’s Services and was an alumnus of Forrest High School, Class of 1947. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William Francis Vernon;  daughters, Susan DeVaughn and Darlene Johns, a brother, Alfred Ferguson and a grandchild, Cody Curtis.

Survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Chris and Michelle Johns of the Holt’s Corner community; 3 grandchildren, Erica Curtis, Josh (Jennifer) Curtis; Ashley (Jacob) Jewell; 3 great grandchildren, Savannah Curtis, Adler and Sloane Jewell; Special family and friends, Marianne Blackwell, Norris Haynes, Debra Hammond, Margaret Bryant, Kay Lindley, Tina Wilson and Carman Sanders.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, March 16, 2019 from 2pm – 4pm at Lawrence Funeral Home. A graveside service will follow at the Triune Cemetery in Williamson County, TN.
