Ms. Margaret Elizabeth Smotherman, age 78, of Eagleville, TN passed away Saturday September 19, 2026 in Murfreesboro, TN. Margaret was born December 30, 1947 to William Bryan (Jack) Smotherman and Mai Katherine Neal Smotherman. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her sister Meredith Smotherman Cunningham. She was a member of Eagleville Baptist Church.

Margaret grew up on a dairy farm and worked there for 32 years and later remained there until her passing. She later began working at the old Murfreesboro Hospital for 10 years and later retired from there. She was a child of God and had a spiritual gift of serving others. She was a wonderful mom, granny, and sister to her family. Margaret loved being able to spoil her two grandchildren and spend time with them. She enjoyed baking for family and friends and found great joy in cookbooks as well as new recipes. Margaret will be missed by all who knew her and loved for many generations to come.

Margaret is survived by her son, Bryan Smotherman of Eagleville, TN; 2 grandchildren, Will Smotherman of Eagleville, Tn and Alissa Smotherman of Eagleville, TN; Siblings, Nancy Whaley (Tex) Hopkins, Jimmy (Patti) Smotherman, and Molly Smotherman Templeton; and a herd of nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews.

Visitation with the Smotherman Family will be Friday, September 25, 2026, at 4PM until 5PM. A Funeral Service will take place at 5PM from the Chapel of Lawrence Funeral Home with Rev. Larry Chatman officiating.
