Margaret White
December 12, 1921 — October 16, 2017
Margaret Ellen White passed away October 16, 2017. Born December 12, 1921 in Columbus, OH to Samuel H. and Nola (Tobin) Barnes. She taught vocal music in Wayne, MI, Westerville and retired from Johnstown, OH school system. Graduated from Westerville High School in 1939, also Bliss College, Otterbein College and attended The Ohio State University and Eastern Michigan University. Lifetime member of Westerville Church of the Nazarene where she played organ and piano; she also directed several church choirs. Her hobbies included bowling, camping and traveling.
Survived by her daughter, Deborah Jean White and her dearest friend, Jean (Bowman) Burns. Preceded in death by her husband, Charles; sisters, Donna Smith, Edna May Barnes and brother, Clarence E. Barnes.
Family members will receive friends on Tuesday, October 24, 2017 from 11:00 am until 1:00 p.m. at Lawrence Funeral Home. Funeral services will follow at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday from the chapel of Lawrence Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Hopper Cemetery near Chapel Hill.
