Mary Linda Haynes Smotherman

Mrs. Mary Linda Haynes Smotherman, age 78,  of Belfast, TN passed away July 23, 2023, in Columbia, TN.   She was born in Bedford County, TN, and was a daughter
of the late Charlie Franklin Haynes and Nannie Cook Haynes.  Mrs. Smotherman was a member of the Baptist Church and a homemaker. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William Smotherman, and several brothers and sisters.

Mrs. Smotherman enjoyed gardening and raising vegetables.  She loved growing flowers and cooking for her family and friends.  Most of all, she loved her family, especially her grandchildren.

Mrs. Smotherman is survived by her loving children, Dennis (Lori) Harden of Shelbyville, TN and Sharon Wallace of Lewisburg, TN; brother, Hoyle (Martha) Haynes of Wartrace, TN; sister, Faye Duke of Shelbyville, TN; 3 grandchildren, Chris (Krissy) Harden, Brandon Harden, Jennifer Wallace; 8 great grandchildren, Justin Harden, Austin Dent, Leah Harris, Kristin Harris, Autumn Neece, Shelby Harmon, Katey (Lane) Allen, Joel Burton; 1 great great grandchild, Gunner Harmon.

Visitation with the family will be on Thursday, July 27, 2023 from 11 AM until 1 PM at Lawrence Funeral Home.  Funeral services will be conducted at 1 PM on Thursday, July 27, 2023 from the Chapel of Lawrence Funeral Home with Chaplain Douglas Cobern officiating.  Interment will follow at Hopper Cemetery near Chapel Hill, TN.
