Maude Hubbard

Mrs. Maude Batten Hubbard, age 97, of Hixson, TN, formerly of Nashville, TN, died Wednesday, February 27, 2013 in Hixson.  Mrs. Hubbard was born in Bedford County and was a daughter of the late David Alexander and Ethel Carlton Crowell.  She was a homemaker and a member of Haywood Hills Baptist Church in Nashville.  Mrs. Hubbard was preceded in death by her first husband, Charles Batten, who died in 1970 and by her second husband, Elvis Hubbard.  Mrs. Hubbard was also preceded in death by a brother and three sisters.

She is survived by daughters, Opal (Pat) Powers, Harrison, TN, Louise Gentry, Nashville, TN; son, Jesse A. (Vera) Batten, Ooltewah, TN; six grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.

Visitation will be Friday, March 1, 2013 from 4:00 until 8:00 pm at Lawrence Funeral Home.  Family members will also receive friends on Saturday, March 2, 2013 from 10:00 am until 11:00 am with funeral services being conducted at 11:00 am from the chapel of Lawrence Funeral Home.  Burial will follow in Hopper Cemetery near Chapel Hill.
