Mr. Melvin Alexandra Ezell, age 90, passed away on February 10, 2026 at his home in Lewisburg, TN surrounded by loved ones. Melvin was born on August 18, 1935 to George William Ezell and Rose Adell Wright Ezell. Melvin retired from the United Methodist Publishing House in 1993 after 37 years of service.
He was an avid collector of antique glass and pocket watches. He restored life back into many beautiful pocket watches and there was not a piece of wood that he could not design into something amazing.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, James Edward “Jim” Ezell and George William “Bill” Ezell, Jr.
Mr. Melvin is survived by his loving wife of 22 years, Rosemary McGowan Daughrity Ezell of Lewisburg, TN; a son, Edward Wayne (Lisa) Ezell of Hendersonville, TN and a daughter, Denise Ezell (Bob) Williams of Franklin, TN; step children, Tony (Phyllis) Daughrity and Randy (Renee) Daughrity, both of Chapel Hill, TN; 4 grandchildren, Phillip (Jamie) Ezell, Josh (Megan) Baulch, Jessica (David) Lewis, Alex Ezell; step grandchildren, Amanda (Daniel) Milliken, Ryan (Bailey) Daughrity, Dillon and Bo Daughrity; 9 great grandchildren, Karlee Ezell, Dallas Ezell, Chandler Baulch, Carter Baulch, Kaitlyn Romer, Hannah Johnson, Adrian Reyna, Brayden Williams, Everly Lewis; 4 step great grandchildren, Owen, Addison, Autumn, and Emma Milliken; great great grandchild, McKenzie Smith.; a brother, Gene Ezell; and a sister, Betty Mitchell.
Visitation with the family will be on Saturday, February 14, 2026 from 10 AM – 12 PM at Lawrence Funeral Home. The graveside service will be conducted at 1:30 PM on Saturday, February 14, 2026 at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens, 660 Thompson Lane, Nashville, TN. Interment will follow the service.
Philip Ezell, Josh Baulch, David Lewis, Alex Ezell, Wes Williams, and Cayden McKinney will serve as pallbearers.
For those who wish, memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society in memory of Mr. Melvin.
