Mitzie White

Mrs. Mitzie White, age 70, of Murfreesboro, TN, passed away on Saturday, October 10, 2026 in Murfreesboro, TN. She was born in Nashville, TN and was a daughter of the late Haskell Carr and Nancy Katherine Smith Carr. Mrs. Mitzie had worked for TN Building Products, Recom, and Alley-Cassetty. She then retired at 60 to spend more time with her grandchildren. She was a member of Patterson Baptist Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her siblings, Hubert Carr, Richard Carr, Robert Carr, Oathel “Boots” Carr, Janie Maynard, and Zina “Tooter” Carr.

Mitzie found great joy in caring for, loving, and helping people in their daily life. She was a woman of strong faith and believed that one of life’s greatest blessings was loving and caring for her family. She enjoyed bargain shopping, liked staying busy, and took pleasure in life’s simple joys. Most of all, Mitzie loved and cherished her family and spending time with them, especially her grandchildren.

Mrs. White is survived by her loving husband of 42 years, Howard White, Jr. of Murfreesboro, TN; children, Howard “Bud” (Angelia) White III of College Grove, TN, Kathy (Jeff) Lillard of Franklin, TN, Billy Williams of Nashville, TN; 6 grandchildren, Keith Williams, Emily Williams, Hunter Lillard, Tyler Lillard, Wyatt Lillard, Luke Lillard; 2 great grandchildren, Laiya Williams, Ace Williams; sisters, Alice Hall of Murfreesboro, TN, and Maggie Hamm of Smyrna, TN .

Visitation with the family will be on Wednesday, October 14, 2026, from 1 PM until 3 PM at Lawrence Funeral Home. The graveside service will be conducted on Wednesday, October 14, 2026 at 4 PM at Triune Cemetery, 7906 Nolensville Road, Arrington, TN with Bro. Jamie Pratt officiating. Interment will follow in Triune Cemetery in Arrington, TN.

Family will serve as pallbearers.
