Peggy Neal

Peggy Ann (Beard) Neal, longtime resident of Spring Hill, TN, passed away at the age of 73 at Life Care Center of Columbia, December 6, 2021 with loving family members present. She leaves behind, son John Allan (Ashley) Neal of Columbia, TN, daughter Penny Lynn (Dallas) Jeter of Columbia, TN, two grandsons Blake Allan (Sequoya) Perritt, William Austin Neal, two granddaughters Emma Lynne Jeter, Anna Sutherland Jeter, brother Gary (Teresa) Beard of Spring Hill, TN, sister Wanda (Terry) Greenway of Columbia, TN and several loving nieces and nephews.

Peggy was born on December 25,1947 and raised in Chapel Hill, TN. She is preceded in death by her loving husband John William (J.W.) Neal of Spring Hill, TN and both of her parents, Ellis Russell Beard and Agnes Virginia (Dolly) Hazelwood. She grew up in a loving and hard-working family who was well known throughout the Flat Creek community.

Peggy was quite the tomboy growing up, with many memories of playing in the creek with her brother Gary. She and her younger sister, Wanda were the local songbirds of the community who started singing at the age of 10 and 4 years old. You might find them singing on their front porch as one drove by their little country home or hear them singing on a Sunday morning at the Ash Hill Presbyterian Church. As an adult she was a loving wife and wonderful Christian Mother. Her children and grandchildren were the  light of her life. She was a very dedicated member of Faith Freewill Baptist Church located in Columbia, TN for over 40 years. Through her faithfulness and love of God, she enjoyed teaching Sunday school, singing in the choir, decorating the church with beautiful flower arrangements, and baking for her fellow church members.

Visitation with the family will be on Wednesday, December 8, 2021 from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Lawrence Funeral Home in Chapel Hill, TN. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, December 9, 2021, at 1:00 PM at the Chapel of Lawrence Funeral Home with Rev. Billy Brown officiating. Interment will follow at Swanson Cemetery in Chapel Hill, TN. Serving as pallbearers are Blake Allan Perritt, William Austin Neal, Dallas Scott Jeter, Stacey Greenway, Maurick Armstrong, Chad Pierce, Matt Snodgrass and Chris Hazelwood.  Honorary pallbearers are the men of Faith Freewill Baptist Church in Columbia, TN.
