Rita Faye Smithson Hobby

Mrs. Rita Faye Smithson Hobby, age 60, of the Wheel Community of Bedford County, TN passed away Sunday, August 2, 2026 at her residence. Born in Bedford County, TN, Rita was a daughter of the late Bennie Franklin Smithson and Juanita Yell Smithson. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Deborah Smithson Freeman and a brother, Mike Smithson.

Rita for several years was the Secretary for Rambo Glass Company. She was indeed an asset to the company and always greeting the customers with a smile. Her family and many friends will certainly miss her.

She is survived by her husband of 35 years, Richard Hobby; her son, Waylon Hobby; her sister, Connie Smithson (Jerry) Sweeney and several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive visitors, Thursday, August 6, 2026, from 4 PM – 8 PM at Lawrence Funeral Home. The Funeral Service will be conducted on Friday, August 7, 2026 at 11 AM from the Chapel of Lawrence Funeral Home with Rev. Larry Chatman officiating. Burial will follow at Round Hill Cemetery in Belfast, TN.
