Ronnie "Pony Tail" Briggs, Jr.

Mr. Ronnie “Pony Tail” Briggs, age 56, of Shelbyville, Tennessee, died on Tuesday, November 7, 2017. Mr. Briggs was born in Bessimer, AL. He was a painter for all of his life and enjoyed writing his own songs and playing them on guitar. He was preceded in death by his father, Ronald Leon Briggs, Sr., and mother Dorothy Swann Briggs.

He is survived by his wife, Rita Briggs, Shelbyville, TN; a son, Wayne (Gail) Segroves of Tullahoma, TN; a daughter, Charity Rutledge, LaVergne, TN; three sisters, Barbara Bennett, Estill Springs, TN, Pam Beasley, Colorado, and Cindy Briggs, Petersburg, TN; five grandchildren, Jessica Cook, Micaela Blake, Cassie Rutledge, Carlie Jo Rutledge, and Joshua Segroves; three nephews and three nieces.

Family members will receive friends on Saturday, November 11, 2017 from 12:00 until 2:00 p.m. at Lawrence Funeral Home with a Celebration of Life service being conducted at 2:00 p.m. from the chapel of Lawrence Funeral Home with Rev. James Griggs officiating.
