Rory Allen Griffy

Mr. Rory Allen Griffy, age 71, of Chapel Hill, TN, passed away on Thursday, July 2, 2026 at his residence in Chapel Hill, TN. He was a native of Muncie, IN but grew up in Wartrace, TN and was a son of the late John Ellis Griffy, Sr. and Frances Inez (Keele) Griffy. Rory was retired from Bedford County Government as the Director of Probation. He was a State of Tennessee Academy Instructor for Probation and Parole. Mr. Griffy was a graduate of Liberty University and proudly served our country in the United States Navy. He was a member of the American Legion. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Patricia Gayle Griffy. 

He enjoyed the outdoors with a passion for fishing, especially near the Potts Curve area. He enjoyed reading books and history. He certainly enjoyed his family and friends while he dined at the Country Diner. Most of all he loved his family and spending time with them.

Mr. Rory Allen Griffy is survived by his loving wife of 45 years, Joyce Griffy of Chapel Hill, TN; two sons, Chris Griffy (Joan), Buck Griffy; two daughters, Aimee Burnett, Cindy Griffy; two brothers, John Griffy and Wayne Griffy; mother in law, Faye Fancher (Paul); three sisters in law, Lynne Davis (Gary), Kim Walls (Jeff), Shawnn Moss (BJ), grandchildren, several nieces and nephews; special friends from the Country Diner and Las Fiestas Restaurants, and his buddies, Robbie and Dwayne. 

Per Mr. Griffy’s request, there will be no public funeral services for him.
