Sara Frances Quirk Smithson, age 82 of Chapel Hill, TN, died December 29, 2013. Preceded in death by parents, Luther and Lena Wright Quirk; husband of 59 years, Charles Wade Smithson; and infant son, Darrell Wade Smithson.
Survived by daughter, Lesa (Bill) Piper; grandchildren,Natalie (Drew) Bingham, Leigh (Josh) Orendorf, Bill Reid (Sophie) Piper; great-grandchildren, Luke and Emily Bingham, and Henry Piper.
Sara was a retired registered nurse and a member of Chapel Hill United Methodist Church.
Also survived by sisters-in-law, Martha Alexander, Midge Valone, and Dotti (Ron) Zaino, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Sisters-in-law, Bobbye Powers, Catherine Smithson, Lennice Smithson and brothers-in-law, Jim Smithson, Ross Alexander, Marvin Valone and Minor Powers preceded her in death.
Visitation Tuesday, December 31, 2013, 4-7 pm and Wednesday 10 – 11am. Service Wednesday, January 1, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. all at Lawrence Funeral Home. Burial in Neapolis Cemetery.
