Obituary

Mr. Terry Ray Douglas, age 64, of the New Town Community in Rutherford County, TN, passed away on Tuesday, April 21, 2026 in Murfreesboro, TN. He was born in Bedford County, TN to the late Walter Denton Douglas and Elizabeth Ann Bogle Douglas. Terry was retired from Nissan with 38.5 years of service. He was a member of the Church of Christ and a graduate of Community High School Class of 1979. He was preceded in death by sisters, Janice McCormick, Dyann Miller, brothers, Don “Weasel” Douglas, Ellis “Jack” Douglas, nephew, Willie Douglas, and father in law, Melvin Hatcher.

Terry had a hobby of working on lawnmowers. He truly enjoyed the outdoors, especially hunting deer, turkeys, and fishing. He was an avid collector of Native American arrowheads, artifacts, and Case knives. Most of all, he loved his family and participating in their activities!

Mr. Douglas is survived by his loving wife of 42 years, Cheryl Douglas of the New Town Community; daughter, Christy Douglas of the New Town Community; brother, Walter “Scutt” (Brenda) Douglas of Unionville, TN; mother in law, Anne Hatcher of the New Town Community; sister in law, Donna Burnett of the New Town Community; several nieces and nephews.

Visitation with the family will be on Saturday, April 25, 2026 from 11 AM until 1 PM at Lawrence Funeral Home. The funeral service will be conducted on Saturday, April 25, 2026 at 1 PM from the Chapel of Lawrence Funeral Home with Bro. Mike Loyd and Bro. Clay Minatra officiating. Burial will follow in the King Cemetery in the Rover Community of Bedford County, TN.

Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
