Thomas F. Lynch, age 82, of Shelbyville, TN, passed away on July 10, 2026, in Murfreesboro, TN. Born on January 29, 1944, in Bedford County, TN, he was the son of the late Francis Armethia Lynch Newsom and his step father William F. Newsom. Thomas is preceded in death by his wife, Martha Underwood Lynch, a son and daughter in law, Thomas Jason (Carolyn) Lynch, his siblings, Carolyn Sharp, Kathy Prouty, Mary Leverette, John P. Lynch, Randy B. Newsom, Leslie Newsom, William Roy Newsom, Doyle Newsom, and his grandchildren, Totianna Marshall and Austin Tate Lynch.

Thomas was a believer in Jesus Christ. In his mission in life, he was always ready to serve. He began his career as a welder/machinist and worked for over 25 years helping many businesses succeed. Later, he began helping build and grow Cornerstone Baptist Church where he was a proud and devoted member. He always shines his light for Christ in everything he did. Thomas’s love and devotion to his family will be remembered for many years to come.

Thomas is survived by his children, Tammy R. Lynch of Shelbyville, TN, Judy Samatha (David M) Evans of Russellville, AL, Bruce Nathanael (Jamie) Lynch of Rockvale, TN ;10 grandchildren; 13 Great Grandchildren; 1 Great Great Grandchild; sisters, Debbie Fay Newsom and Patsy Darlene Newsom; brothers, Claude Edwin Newsom and Timmy Carl Newsom also survive.

A visitation with the Lynch Family will be Wednesday, July 15, 2026, from 4PM until 8PM at Lawrence Funeral Home in Chapel Hill, TN. Another visitation will follow on Thursday, July 16, 2026 from 12PM until 1PM at Cornerstone Baptist Church, 2769 Hwy 41A SE Shelbyville, TN 37160. A Funeral Service will follow at 1PM from Cornerstone Baptist Church. Burial will follow in Cothran Cemetery in Bedford Co with Pastor Stephen Reeves, Douglas Evans, and Randy V. Crosslin officiating.
