Mrs. Vivian Allene Ivery Skinner, age 74, of College Grove, Tennessee, died Monday, April 6, 2020 at her home in College Grove.

Mrs. Skinner was born in Williamson County and was a daughter of the late John Will and Allie Elizabeth Beard Ivery. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Sam Pleas Skinner, Sr., who died in 1998; son-in-law Roy Mac Covington; granddaughter, Abigail Lorraine Covington; sister, Wilma Howerton; brothers, Walter Smithson and Tony Ivery.

Vivian was a beautician and, for over 30 years, the owner and operator of Vivian’s Beauty Shop in College Grove. She was a member of the College Grove United Methodist Church and, until her illness, was a very active member of the College Grove Senior Citizens.

Mrs. Skinner is survived by her children, Pleas “Junebug” (Jamie Marie) Skinner, Jr., College Grove, TN; Teresa Lynn Skinner Covington, Springfield, TN; sister, Connie Ivery (William) Alloway, College Grove, TN; grandchildren, Roy Travis (Amanda) Covington, Jackson Pleas (Kaitlin) Covington, William Randy (Kim) Cathey, J. C. (Madylin) Knox, Elisha McDonald; great grandchildren, Layla Belle Covington, Taylor (Lauren) Cathey, Jackson Knox, Evan McDonald, Kelsey McDonald and Kenzie (Lee) Witt; two great great grandchildren.

In light of the Coronavirus health crisis, there will be no visitation and a private family graveside service will be held with burial to follow in College Grove Cemetery. Please know that online tributes thru the funeral home website are equally appreciated. Family members will serve as pallbearers.
